DescriptionThe whole story▼

Plenty of Honda CRF250X enduros are still in use long after their first owners moved on, and they often arrive at their next home with a list of small jobs. The footpegs are frequently on it: seized pivots, tired springs, surfaces worn smooth by years of boots. Accossato makes enlarged footpegs in Ergal for the CRF250X of 2004 to 2017, available in orange, blue, black, red or Titanium, and fitting them is a good moment to sort out the whole footpeg area.

Key Features

  • Enlarged Accossato footpegs for the Honda CRF250X, 2004 to 2017 as listed
  • Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy
  • Fresh, broader pegs for an older enduro
  • Designed for motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles
  • Orange, blue, black, red or Titanium
  • Two pegs, one per side
  • Same set listed for the CRF250R and CRF450X
  • No ABE available; for competition

Construction and Material Quality

The Italian manufacturer, now based in Villastellone near Turin, describes this set briefly: enlarged footpegs made of Ergal, for motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles. Ergal is a high-strength aluminium alloy. Enlarged means the platform is broader than standard, so the boot is better supported. There are two pegs in the set, a left and a right, and the colour you choose applies to both; five colours are available for the CRF250X.

Reviving an Older CRF250X

On a used enduro bike the footpeg pivots are among the most neglected parts. Years of washing, mud and the odd fall gradually turn the grease into paste, and the pins can seize in their mounts. A peg that no longer folds freely is more than an annoyance: if it strikes a rock or the ground in a fall, it cannot give way, and the mount may bend instead.

Start by removing the old pegs completely. Clean the pins and the bores, and check whether the pins are straight and the springs still pull firmly. Reuse the originals if they are in good order; if not, replace them. Clean the mounts on the frame, look for cracks and apply a thin layer of grease before fitting the new pegs. Once everything is back together, fold each peg up and let it go several times: it should snap back briskly and fully. On an older CRF250X the brake pedal and gear lever may also have been bent or adjusted over the years, so check their position with the new pegs in place, and look at everything again after the first ride.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's application list gives the CRF250X from 2004 to 2017, and we have linked the set to those years. It is the only Accossato footpeg listed for this bike, and the CRF250R and CRF450X appear in the same list for this pair. If you are unsure of a used bike's model year, the frame number will tell, and we are happy to check it for you.

Road Approval

For this set we have no ABE and no other approval document, and it is therefore offered for competition use.
