DescriptionThe whole story▼

This is the nickel-plated version of the CY024 radial clutch master cylinder, sharing its 16 mm piston and its 15-16-17 mm PRS pivot with the natural-finish unit but swapping an anodised body for a plated one. Accossato forges and machines the body from aluminium before plating it, so the change is cosmetic rather than mechanical. A black folding lever is fitted, and here both the long and short lever carry a relieving eyelet (RST).

Key Features

  • 16 mm piston diameter for the clutch circuit
  • PRS pivot, adjustable between 15, 16 and 17 mm
  • Nickel-plated aluminium body for a brighter finish than the natural anodised option
  • Folding black lever, long or short, both with a relieving eyelet (RST)
  • CNC machining and manufacture in Italy
  • Offset riser that curbs body flex during use
  • Stainless mounting hardware and a galvanised steel bleed valve
  • Formula 1 compound seals

Construction and Material Quality

The CY024 body is CNC-machined from aluminium and then nickel-plated rather than anodised, a different finishing step applied to the same casting used on the natural version. Stainless steel fixes the lever assembly to the bar, the bleed valve is galvanised steel and the seals are Formula 1 compound. An offset riser resists body flex as the lever is worked, and the bore is shaped to shorten the lever's passive travel, before the clutch starts to lift, by more than half against an ordinary radial unit.

Both Lever Lengths with the Eyelet

Where the natural-finish CY024 fits the relieving eyelet only to its long lever, this nickel-plated version carries the eyelet (RST) on both the long and the short lever, so the choice between lengths is purely about reach at the bar. The pivot still moves between 15, 16 and 17 mm regardless of which lever length is fitted, letting the clutch pull be softened or sharpened to match riding style. As on the natural-finish unit, the 15, 16 and 17 mm pivot settings are built into the lever rather than sold as separate inserts.

Fitment and Compatibility

The 70 motorcycles confirmed for the natural CY024 apply equally to this nickel-plated version, among them the BMW R1250GS Adventure, Ducati Panigale V4 S, Suzuki V-Strom 1050, Kawasaki Z900 and Honda CB1100; see the Fitment tab for the full list. The natural anodised CY024 remains available too, as a separate product. As a clutch rather than brake part, this cylinder has no stop-light switch to wire in, which simplifies fitting it compared with a brake master cylinder swap.

Road Approval

This clutch master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Delivery covers the Accossato PRS 16x15-16-17 radial clutch master cylinder with the folding lever in black, fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST) on both lever lengths, in the nickel-plated body finish. Stainless steel mounting screws, the galvanised steel bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The fluid reservoir is not included and is bought separately.
