DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Aprilia RSV4 Factory of 2013 to 2017 belongs to the period when superbikes learned to think. Its APRC package combined traction, wheelie and launch control, and from 2013 the Factory also came with ABS. Many of these bikes are now kept for the circuit, cleaned after every outing and stored with care between events by owners who pay attention to how every metal part ages. Accossato's FC102, a quick-release fuel tank cap CNC-machined entirely from aluminium, is listed for this bike, with a pawl colour of your choice.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Aprilia RSV4 Factory, 2013 to 2017
- Factory APRC with ABS and Factory LE Racing on Accossato's list
- CNC-machined entirely from aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for quick access to the tank
- Choice of six pin colours
- Pawl sold separately should it be damaged
- No German ABE documented; intended for the track
Construction and Material Quality
Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium, the FC102 is, in Accossato's words, robust and durable, and its design is new. In use it relies on a quick-closing pawl that lets you open the tank of the RSV4 Factory swiftly and close it again without delay. The pawl's colour is your choice from six: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold. As it is the moving part of the cap, Accossato also offers it as a separate spare.
Cleaning Up After the Last Session
A day on track leaves its marks around the filler: rubber dust from the tyres, insects, a film of fuel from the paddock refills and fingerprints from lifting the bike on and off its stands. On aluminium, dirt and fuel residue are easiest to remove while they are fresh. Let the bike cool, then wipe the cap and the area around it with a soft cloth and water with a little mild soap, rinse gently and dry straight away. Abrasive pads, polishing pastes and strong degreasers do more harm than good on a machined surface, and a hard jet of water aimed at the filler is never a good idea. Keep grit out of the pawl so it moves freely, and look for damage while you are there. If the RSV4 Factory is going into storage for the winter, a clean, dry cap and a breathable cover over the bike help the metal keep its look until spring.
Fitment and Compatibility
Two versions appear for the FC102 here: the RSV4 1000 Factory APRC with ABS from 2013 to 2015 and the Factory LE Racing from 2015 to 2017. The same cap is listed at Inter-Pace for the earlier RSV4 and for the Tuono V4 1100 RR. Please verify your bike on the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate have been documented for this cap, so it belongs on the circuit. The original RSV4 Factory cap normally locks with the ignition key; on public roads it should not simply be exchanged.
Scope of Delivery
One FC102 cap with the pawl colour of your choice. The pawl can be bought separately as a replacement.
