DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Monster 1200 of 2014 put the big Testastretta twin into Ducati's naked bike and gave it a front brake to match. At the right end of its handlebar sits the reservoir for that brake, and the cap on top of it often carries more than a logo: many original caps also bear a note about the fluid the system uses. Before swapping it for something more personal, it is worth reading. The replacement Accossato offers for the Monster 1200 from 2014 to 2021 is the TS003, a front reservoir cap machined from aluminium, with seven anodised colours on offer.

- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, machines the TS003 from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it in one of seven colours: orange, silver, green, black, gold, red or blue. Its fit is based on the standard front reservoir, which leaves the master cylinder and the rest of the Monster 1200's front brake untouched. When the old cap comes off, inspect the diaphragm under it. It should be supple and free of cracks; if not, replace it.
Read the Old Cap Before It Goes
Original reservoir caps frequently carry a short instruction, typically the fluid specification and a warning. Once the TS003 is fitted, that reminder is no longer on the handlebar of your Monster 1200, so write the information down, or better, look up the fluid the owner's manual specifies and note it in the service book where you will find it next time. Then keep the old cap with the manual. The swap itself follows the usual rules for a brake reservoir. Turn the bars until the reservoir sits level, cover the tank and the instruments with a cloth, and keep water ready, because brake fluid attacks paint and any drop should be rinsed off at once. Leave the reservoir open only briefly, since the fluid absorbs moisture from the air, and check that the level lies between the marks. Tighten the new cap gently. Before riding, squeeze the lever several times at a standstill; it should feel firm, just as it did before. Remember that a cap change never takes the place of the fluid changes the manual prescribes.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS003 for the front reservoir of the Monster 1200 from 2014 to 2021, as a replacement for the original cap. We carry the same cap for the Monster 1200 S, the Multistrada 1200 and the Aprilia RSV4. On the left grip, the FP007 clutch cover can match it, and the FP004 oil filler cap and TS012 rear cap complete Accossato's set for this bike. Confirm your model year on the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
The TS003 reaches us without an ABE or a test mark, and we list it for circuit riding and competition.
