DescriptionThe whole story▼
Shark built the Skwal Cup around its rear spoiler. The shape is taken straight from the track helmets and it is the reason the helmet holds still when a rider tucks in behind a screen at speed. That also makes it the part most likely to need replacing, because it is the highest point at the back of the helmet and the first thing to catch a wall, a van door or a tarmac slide.
Key Features
- Original rear spoiler for the Shark Skwal Cup, small shell version, in black
- The aerodynamic element the helmet was designed around, not a bolt-on styling piece
- Restores the airflow behaviour the helmet was developed with, which is what keeps head movement down at motorway speed
- Mounts to the moulded attachment points on the shell, with no drilling and no adhesive
- Replaces a spoiler that has been scraped, cracked or lost without touching the shell, the liner or the retention system
- Shark also catalogues decor-specific versions of this spoiler under adjacent numbers, including the Zarco GP de France and Redding liveries
Shell size matters here
The Skwal Cup is moulded in two shell sizes and the spoiler differs between them. This number is the small-shell part. The large-shell spoiler runs under VE65220P. The mounting points are in the same relative position on both shells, so a wrong-size spoiler will bolt on and look almost right while sitting at the wrong angle to the airflow.
Fitment
The Skwal Cup is named in the price list for the interior parts carrying the same 65 number series, and the helmet itself runs under HE65 article numbers. The two together place this spoiler on the Skwal Cup. Note that this is a deduction from the numbering, not a line in the supplier's model column, which for this article says only that it is used across ranges. If exactness matters for your order, compare the mounting points against the spoiler currently on the helmet before fitting.
Fitting
The spoiler locates on two points at the rear of the shell and clips down along the trailing edge. Seat the front points first. A spoiler that is clipped at the back but not seated at the front will lift at speed and take its mounting tabs with it.
