Strut Casing L387, Öhlins part number 06798-67. Wall thickness and bore finish are what let a cylinder hold pressure without deforming under load.

Key Features

  • Original Öhlins service part
  • Öhlins part number 06798-67

What It Is

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. The cylinder tube is the working bore of the damper: the piston runs in it, and its finish decides how well the piston rings seal. Öhlins hones its tubes to a defined surface finish rather than simply to a diameter. Reservoir tubes carry the gas charge and are built to the same standard as the working cylinder.

Why the Original

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask.

Getting the Number Right

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 06798-67. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Twin-tube dampers use two concentric tubes, and both are listed separately. A scored bore means lost damping, because the oil bypasses the piston rather than being forced through the shims.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
