DescriptionThe whole story▼

The KTM 150 SX in its 2024–2026 form takes Öhlins part number FFX 2201. The adjusters on a standard fork often move very little; on this one they move the whole range.

Key Features

  • 297 mm of damper stroke
  • Direct fitment on the KTM 150 SX (2024–2026)
  • Ships with spring 02428-47
  • Fitted spring rate 4,7 N/mm, chosen by Öhlins for the 150 SX

Construction and Material Quality

Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Tube diameter, offset and axle clamp are all specified per model so the assembly drops into the standard yokes. Öhlins manufactures in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, and assembles and tests every unit there before it ships.

How the Fork Works

Spring part number 02428-47 is a separate catalogue item, so a rate change is inexpensive. Öhlins specifies 950 mm here, so ride height stays as the factory set it. The spring is wound to 4,7 N/mm, and alternative rates are catalogue items. 297 mm is the stroke Öhlins specifies against the 150 SX's ratio. Öhlins supplies a baseline setting sheet with the fork. Each function has its own adjuster, which is what allows one change to be judged honestly.

The RXF 48 S in Detail

The fork is built for racing use and expects racing service intervals — oil and seals at regular hour counts. The coil holds its rate as the fork heats and needs no pressure check between motos. For a rider who wants the fork to feel the same on the last lap as on the first, that is the whole argument.

Fitted to the 150 SX

A motocross track punishes suspension in a way nothing else does: repeated identical hits at the same speed, lap after lap. The 2024–2026 generation kept the same chassis dimensions throughout, so one Öhlins number serves the whole run. At 150 cc the 150 SX makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens.

Fitment and Compatibility

Öhlins part number FFX 2201 is the correct number for the KTM 150 SX as built 2024–2026. 33 machines in the range take this number, the KTM 150 SX among them. Öhlins notes for this application: 08765- spring series *Replaces FFX 1201*

Road Approval

Road approval: not documented by Öhlins for the KTM 150 SX. We do not state an approval we cannot evidence — please confirm the current status with us before ordering if you intend to use the motorcycle on public roads.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins suspension rewards careful fitting. We recommend having the work done by an authorised Öhlins service centre — and we are one ourselves: we fit, service and set up Öhlins components in house. If you would like us to handle the installation, just ask and we will quote it with the order.
