Twin-tube pistons have separate paths for compression and rebound, which is the whole point of the design.

Key Features

Dimension B 10.5 mm

Dimension A 1 mm

Thread M7x1

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 05273-28

Where It Sits

At 1 mm, 10.5 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Öhlins uses a piston band rather than metal-to-metal contact, which is what keeps the bore intact. Öhlins machines the ports rather than casting them, so the edges stay sharp and the flow predictable. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.

How to Be Sure It Fits

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 05273-28. The published dimensions are dimension a 1 mm, dimension b 10.5 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Valves and needles set the adjustable part of the damping; the piston sets the rest. Port area and shim seat geometry decide the damping curve before any adjuster is touched.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05273-28

Category: Jets

Dimension A: 1 mm

Dimension B: 10.5 mm

Thread: M7x1

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05273-28_40615d22-a0e7-4d2d-8033-9c06bf0ac1fb.png?v=1788873993
