How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Monza is the racing graphic of the four: hard-edged blocks that sweep forward along the shell and break across the chin bar so the pattern still lines up closed. In white with blue and red it is the most conventional and the most legible of the twelve — the combination that reads as a motorcycle helmet from fifty metres.
What SHARP measured, and where this helmet sits
The Strobe2 replaced a helmet SHARP had already tested, which makes for an unusually direct comparison. The previous FF902 Scope earned three stars under the old ECE 22.05 regime in 2022. This helmet earned four under ECE 22.06 in August 2026 — a tougher standard, tested at more sites and more speeds, with rotational acceleration measured for the first time.
Going up a star while the test got harder is the strongest evidence in this table that the money went into the shell rather than into the paint.

About the Monza White Blue Red graphic
This is Monza on a white base, and the base is what makes it work. White carries the forward blocks around the brow and chin bar, blue fills the flanks, and red appears in small quantities at the edges where it draws the eye without taking over. Under a gloss clear coat the block edges stay knife-sharp; a matt lacquer would soften exactly the boundaries the design depends on. Two practical consequences follow from the large white area, and both are worth having on a commuter helmet: it is the most visible helmet in the Monza family at dusk and in rain, and it runs cooler in standing traffic than either of its darker siblings because most of the shell reflects rather than absorbs.
Three shells, and what KPA actually is
A word on what a polymer shell does in a crash, since it differs from a composite. Fibre shells are stiff, spread load quickly across a wide area, then delaminate. A thermoplastic flexes further before failing, spreading the impact over more time rather than more area. Both approaches work — ECE and SHARP care about the head inside, not the route taken. KPA gets there by deforming, and it did so well enough here to score five out of five at two of the three tested speeds. Three shells cover XS–3XL.
Ninety degrees, and how the chin bar locks
Two things keep a modular chin bar working for years, and both are maintenance rather than design. Grit in the pivots is the first: after a wet, salted winter ride a rinse with clean water does more than any lubricant. The second is not forcing the bar past its stop when it is stiff — that is what bends the ratchet, and what turns a fifteen-euro part into a new chin bar. The ratchet system is available separately.
What ECE 22.06 and the P/J label mean
Worth a paragraph rather than a table row, because most shops leave it as one. The oblique test drops the helmet onto a slanted anvil faced with abrasive paper while instruments record how fast the head rotates, and compares that against the Brain Injury Criterion. It is the first time European regulation has limited the mechanism that does most of the damage in a real crash. The visor and every fitted accessory go through the process in place.
Twin Visor, sun visor — and the Pinlock that is not in the box
The visor aperture on a modular helmet has to seal against a chin bar that moves, which is a harder sealing problem than on a full-face and the reason cheap flip-ups whistle. Here the screen carries a scratch-resistant hardcoat, UV stabilisation against yellowing, and a quick-release mechanism designed to be worked at the roadside rather than on a bench.
Air, the breath deflector and the elastic-band liner
Everything that touches your head comes out and goes in a washing machine, and that is worth more than it sounds. A liner absorbs sweat and hair oils, and those break the foam down chemically as well as making the helmet smell. A liner washed twice a season lasts markedly longer than one that is never washed — and on this helmet the liner is a sixty-euro spare part rather than a reason to replace the whole thing.
1700 grams, no emergency release, and the rest of the honest list
1700 grams (±50), measured mid-size without accessories. Think of it as load rather than a number: your neck is not holding a helmet up, it is stabilising a mass on a lever every time the road moves. It is the lightest flip-up in our range and it is still around two hundred grams more than a comparable full-face — the unavoidable cost of a hinge, a latch and the reinforcement they need.
The other honest notes: no emergency release, no supplied Pinlock, and no published decibel figure, because none exists for this model and we will not manufacture one.
When something wears out
Seven visors are stocked for the Strobe II: clear, light tint, dark tint, three iridium mirrors and a rainbow. Worth planning as a pair rather than one at a time — a clear screen for winter and something tinted or mirrored for summer, swapped in a minute by the quick-release. Remember that the Pinlock is pinned to one visor and does not migrate between them.
