DescriptionThe whole story

Developed in direct collaboration with MotoGP, Moto2, WSBK and WSSP racing teams, the LighTech FTRKA013 rearset system represents uncompromising circuit engineering distilled into a package purpose-built for the Kawasaki Ninja 400. Every component is machined from high-strength aluminium and assembled to tolerances that serious trackday riders and club racers demand.

Key Features

  • CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium for an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and long-term durability under racing loads
  • Levers pivoted directly on the footpeg for immediate, zero-play shift and brake feel — exactly as on factory race machinery
  • Oversized bearings throughout, delivering maximum stability and consistency even under sustained hard use
  • Ergonomic heel guards improve knee contact and body control, keeping the rider anchored to the machine through high-speed corners
  • Reduced fracture risk in extreme racing conditions compared to standard componentry
  • Individual replacement parts available separately, minimising downtime and long-term running costs

Build Quality and Materials

The FTRKA013 is the product of LighTech's deep involvement with the top tiers of international road racing. The billet aluminium construction is not a cosmetic choice — it is a functional one. High-strength alloy resists the micro-flex and fatigue that can compromise feel and safety over a race weekend. The oversized bearing specification is another detail borrowed directly from prototype racing: larger bearing contact areas spread load more evenly, reducing wear and eliminating the vague, spongy feedback that plagues lesser aftermarket rearsets.

Track Performance

Positioning the lever pivot on the footpeg itself is a design philosophy proven at the highest levels of the sport. The result is a shorter, more direct mechanical path from foot to shift rod or brake master cylinder — translating into crisp, confident inputs even under braking at the limit. Combined with the ergonomic heel guards, which lock the boot heel in position and improve the rider's overall contact with the bike, the FTRKA013 transforms the feel of the Ninja 400 on circuit. Whether used for sprint track days, endurance club racing or a Moto3-style performance conversion, the system delivers consistent, repeatable feedback lap after lap.

Important Notice

The LighTech FTRKA013 is designed exclusively for closed-circuit track use. It is not type-approved or certified for use on public roads and must not be fitted to any motorcycle intended for road use.
