DescriptionThe whole story▼
A STREET TRIPLE 675 has no bodywork to sacrifice, so the hit goes straight to the hard parts. That is the brief the STETR205 was built to: aluminium face, magnesium carrier, 60 Shore TPE in between. On a STREET TRIPLE 675 from 2011 to 2016 it bolts to the standard locations without modification.
Key Features
- Nylon shell with a laser-branded LighTech logo as the STETR205 sliding face
- Supplied black on black; STETR205 rings and dampers in other colours are separate items
- A scuffed STETR205 shell is renewed on its own rather than costing the whole assembly
- Supplied complete with the hardware the STREET TRIPLE 675 installation needs
- Magnesium oscillation bush in the STETR205 allows a controlled amount of movement
- Fitting the STETR205 to a STREET TRIPLE 675 is measured in minutes, not hours
- 60 Shore is hard enough to hold the STETR205 shape under its own 701 g
What the Damper Changes
A solid protector does one job well: it keeps bodywork off the ground. LighTech splits the STETR205 into a hard outer face and a soft inner element. Total weight stays at 701 g despite the three-material build.
How It Is Built
LighTech machines the upper ring of the STETR205 from aluminium for exactly one property: hardness. The oscillation bush and the bottom section are magnesium, which matters at the end of a lever arm. At 60 Shore the damper is firm enough to hold shape and soft enough to flatten on impact.
Compatibility and Installation
Fitment is the Triumph STREET TRIPLE 675, 2011 to 2016. Check the clearance to the surrounding bodywork once fitted and set it with the supplied spacers.
Scope of Delivery
The STETR205 box holds two sliders, the pins and the spacers the STREET TRIPLE 675 frame bosses need. LighTech keeps the STETR205 in its spare parts programme rather than treating it as disposable.
Fitting
The STETR205 goes onto the STREET TRIPLE 675 with the bike on a stand and nothing dismantled. Offer the STETR205 up before tightening anything; the STREET TRIPLE 675 fairing line decides the final position. The STREET TRIPLE 675 kit is Black; LighTech does not list an alternative for the STETR205.
Road Approval
No approval documentation is included with the STETR205. A protector fitted outside the outline of the STREET TRIPLE 675 is something a German inspector may question. Ask before you fit it if the bike is registered. Track days and paddock use are unaffected.
