On an R3 the bracket is most of what you see of the installation. The OBT009 is the rear bracket: 28.9 mm by 31 mm, black anodised, 10 g. No finish to choose: LighTech lists the OBT009 in black alone. It goes onto the R3 without modification and comes off again just as easily.

Position decides whether the hose runs clean or kinks on an R3. LighTech dimensions the OBT009 to 28.9 mm by 31 mm so the hose run stays short on the R3. It fits the LighTech reservoirs OBT001, OBT006 and OBT007 and is sold without any of them.

This listing covers the Yamaha R3, 2015 to 2026. Mounting is simple, but where it ends up on the R3 is your decision, not a fixed point.
Maintenance
Check the bracket fasteners on the R3 at the same interval as the bar clamps. Otherwise it is a fit-and-forget item on the R3.

The OBT009 replaces an existing part on the R3 rather than adding one. Check steering lock on the R3 once the tank is in place. Re-check the fasteners after the first ride.

Regulations and the Hydraulic Circuit
Brake components are regulated for the obvious reason, and this is one. There is no type approval for the OBT009; we say that plainly rather than bury it. If the R3 is used on public roads, treat this as a brake-system modification: inspection body first, workshop check after.
