DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the Ducati Hypermotard V2 890 SP (2026), the JP ES 016 license plate light eliminator simulates the original number plate light electronically, so the lamp can be removed without the dashboard raising a warning. Like other eliminators in this range, it is intended for racetrack and off-road use.
Key Features
- Ducati Hypermotard V2 890 SP (2026)
- Electronic device that mimics the original plate light's signal
- Plug-and-play connection, no loom splicing needed
- Allows physical removal of the light and its housing
- Keeps the dashboard free of errors once it's gone
Standing In for a Removed Bulb
Once the number plate light is unbolted and unplugged, its circuit is open, which a modern dashboard reads as a fault. This device closes that circuit electronically, presenting the signal the dashboard is still looking for.
No Physical Light Required
There's no bulb inside this part at all; it works purely as an electronic stand-in, matching the resistance and signal profile the original light's circuit used to provide.
A Cleaner Tail Section
Taking the plate light, bracket, and wiring off the back of the bike opens up the tail for a cleaner look, something riders setting up the SP for track days often want to do.
A Track-Only Change for a Road-Legal Part
Removing a functioning number plate light takes away something the Hypermotard V2 890 SP needs to be road-legal, so this eliminator, like the plate light itself once removed, is meant for racetrack and off-road riding only.
Simple to Connect
This device plugs in where the original light's wiring used to run, with no cutting or additional wiring required elsewhere on the bike. There is nothing to measure or test beforehand, since the connector only fits the one way it is meant to go in.
