DescriptionThe whole story▼
Triumph's Daytona 675 earned a reputation among supersport riders for handling that rewarded a confident rider without punishing a careful one, which is exactly the kind of bike a trackday school likes to put a novice group on. Novice sessions are usually the slowest on the timetable, yet they produce more low-speed tip-overs than the faster groups, because new riders brake too early, run wide at a chicane, or simply misjudge how much lean the Daytona needs for a given corner. For the Daytona 675 of 2006 to 2015, Accossato lists the PF03, a pair of black front axle sliders.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Triumph Daytona 675, 2006 to 2015
- Accossato PF03, one protector for each side
- Aluminium and plastic, finished in black
- Spacers, screws and remaining mounting parts in the kit, according to Accossato
- Designed to take the first contact in a slide or fall
- Same pair listed for the Daytona 675 R, the Speed Triple 1050 R and the Street Triple 765 R and RS
- No German ABE on file; offered for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The PF03 is built from aluminium and plastic in both of its black protectors, one for each side of the Daytona 675's front wheel. Accossato describes the kit as complete, including the spacers, screws and other parts needed for mounting. Their role in a chicane or any other slow corner is to meet the ground before the fork and the front axle area if the bike slides away from the rider, which can limit the damage to those parts. They are expected to wear and scuff with use, and a slider that has taken a heavy knock is exchanged rather than kept on.
The Novice Group and the Chicane
A chicane asks a rider to change direction twice in quick succession, and it exposes any hesitation immediately: too much front brake into the first part, and the Daytona 675 runs wide or washes the front; too little commitment through the second part, and a rider ends up tight on the kerb with nowhere to go. Novice groups are told to build up gradually, using cones or reference points rather than chasing a fast rider ahead, and that advice exists because most chicane offs happen when someone tries to go faster than their own technique allows. If the front does let go in a chicane, the fall is usually a slide rather than a high-speed crash, and the sliders are there to take the first contact with the tarmac. After any off, a novice rider should bring the Daytona 675 back to the pits rather than rejoin, and check the sliders, the levers and the fairing before the next session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the PF03 for the Daytona 675 from 2006 to 2015, and our listing follows those years exactly. The same sliders are also catalogued in our shop for the Daytona 675 R, the Speed Triple 1050 R and the Street Triple 765 R and RS. No other Accossato protection part is listed for this model. Please check your Daytona 675 against the application list before ordering, or ask us to confirm it.
Road Approval
There is no ABE and no test document on file for the PF03, so we supply it for track and competition use.
