DescriptionThe whole story▼
A muddy weekend on a Honda CRF250L ends at the jet wash, and what happens there decides how the controls feel next time. High-pressure water drives grit into every pivot and strips grease from the clutch cable. Accossato's C7301 is a folding clutch lever for the CRF250L of 2012 to 2015, CNC-machined from Ergal 7075. It works with the bike's cable-operated clutch at the original perch, and its joint gives the blade a way out when the bike falls on its left.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Honda CRF250L, model years 2012 to 2015
- Fits the original perch of the cable-operated clutch
- Long blade for four fingers

- Machined from solid Ergal 7075 aluminium alloy
- Black or red blade on a dark base
- Made in Italy by Accossato
- No German ABE documented; off-road use only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, based today in Villastellone near Turin, machines the C7301 on CNC equipment from a solid block of Ergal 7075. The alloy offers a great deal of strength for its weight, which is the balance the company is after: strong, light and dependable. The lever comes in two parts. The base is dark and carries the pivot, while the blade, red or black, hangs on a joint that lets it fold. Clutch levers in the range are made longer than the brake levers, and this one takes four fingers.
After the Pressure Washer
A pressure washer is the quickest way to get a CRF250L clean and one of the quickest ways to shorten the life of its controls. Keep the nozzle well away from the lever pivot and from the point where the clutch cable enters its outer casing; a direct jet forces fine grit in and washes lubricant out. Rinse the lever area with a gentle stream instead, then let the bike dry and work the clutch a few times to clear any trapped water.
On a folding lever there is one more place to look after: the joint between base and blade. Mud packed into it can make the blade stiff to fold, so rinse it out and check that it still moves freely before the next ride. While you are there, check the clutch cable's free play at the lever. Too little and the clutch may slip; too much and it may not fully disengage, which makes finding neutral at a standstill harder. It takes two minutes, and it means that when the bike next tips over on a muddy track, the blade is free to fold rather than jammed by last week's dirt.
Fitment and Compatibility
The C7301 is listed by Accossato for the Honda CRF250L from 2012 to 2015 and fits the original clutch lever perch. Its partner is the B8301 folding brake lever for the same years, also in black or red, so a matching pair is straightforward. Accossato names no later CRF250L model for either lever.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the C7301. The CRF250L carries a number plate, but with this lever fitted it is not approved for public roads; the lever is for off-road use.
