DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Multistrada V2S is a bike many owners ride all year, and a winter of riding means salt on the roads. Salt spray gets everywhere, including the handlebar, where it settles around levers, switches and the master cylinder. Some materials cope with that better than others. The Accossato EDF099 is an anodised aluminium brake lever for the Multistrada V2S, listed from 2022 to 2024. It is machined on CNC equipment, its reach can be adjusted, and the blade is made in three lengths and seven colours.

Key Features

  • Front brake lever for the Multistrada V2S, 2022 to 2024
  • Anodised aluminium surface, hub black, blade coloured
  • Distance to the grip adjustable
  • Three blade lengths; standard approximately 138 mm
  • Replaces the lever on the original master cylinder
  • CNC-machined, rigid construction without a hinge
  • In its own Accossato box

Construction and Material Quality

Aluminium does not rust, but bare aluminium can corrode, especially where salt water sits on it. Anodising protects the EDF099 by converting its surface into a closed oxide layer, which also holds the colour of the blade. The hub is anodised black. Because there is no paint to crack and no hinge to trap moisture, there are few places where corrosion could start, and the lever is a single machined piece from hub to tip.

Road Salt and the Winter Months

If you ride through winter, rinse the handlebar area with clean water after salty rides and dry it, rather than leaving the salt to sit until spring. Pay attention to the pivot and the gap around the adjuster, where dirt and salt collect first. A drop of light lubricant on the pivot once the lever is dry keeps it moving freely.

If the Multistrada V2S is laid up instead, clean it before storage, not afterwards. Salt left on the bike keeps working over the cold months, while a clean, dry bike in a dry place waits for spring unchanged. When the season starts again, check the reach before the first ride: the gloves you use in March are usually thicker than the ones you used in September, and the lever may want to move out a step. Also check that the lever returns cleanly after it has been standing for a while.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Multistrada V2S, filed as the 950 V2 S, and this product covers the bikes of 2022 to 2024. The new generation of the Multistrada V2 that Ducati introduced for 2025 is not part of this listing. A clutch lever is not listed by Accossato for this model.

Road Approval

For the EDF099 there is no documented German ABE, which is why we sell it for track use.
