Somebody who did not choose the element has no reason to suspect it, no symptom to notice and no gauge that would report it. So if a machine is being sold or handed on, either say what is in it or put back the medium that suits the way it will now be used: the P08 at 80 microns and 5,050 litres per square metre per second for general use, or the P14 at 14 microns and 1,800 where dust governs. Neither element is consumed by waiting. Beyond it, lukewarm water and a mild detergent take over, with rinsing continued until the water runs clear.
