DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered from the same precision-machined components as the flagship DDS Pro, the K-Tech DDS Lite shock absorber delivers professional-grade suspension performance for the Aprilia RSV4, Factory, R and RR (2009–2016) at a more accessible price point. Every part of this unit reflects K-Tech's exacting build standards — from the CNC-machined alloy body to the 35 mm RCU housing — so you gain race-derived damping control without compromise on material quality.
Key Features
- 4-way adjustability covering compression, rebound, spring preload and length — full geometry fine-tuning from a single unit
- 32 clicks of compression adjustment and 32 clicks of rebound adjustment for precise, repeatable damping settings
- Manual spring preload adjustment for rider-weight and load optimisation without additional tooling
- Length adjustment allows ride-height and chassis geometry changes to suit road or track use
- CNC-machined components throughout, sharing the same manufacturing tolerances as the DDS Pro specification
- DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points, retaining full data-logging capability
- Upgradeable to Pro specification at any time — simply add the hydraulic preload adjuster and bypass valve when required
- Wide selection of spring rates available to match rider weight and riding style
Build Quality and Materials
The DDS Lite is constructed to the same material and machining standards that K-Tech applies across its entire suspension range. The 35 mm RCU housing and 12 mm RCU shaft are manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring consistent damping behaviour across the full temperature range encountered on both road and track. The eye-type upper and lower brackets are precision-machined rather than cast, providing the dimensional accuracy necessary for repeatable, confidence-inspiring handling on a high-performance motorcycle like the RSV4.
The deliberate decision to share components with the DDS Pro means that fitting the Lite is not a permanent choice — it is the first step in a suspension upgrade path. When your riding demands grow, the unit can be sent to a K-Tech Service Centre and built up to full Pro specification without replacing the shock body.
Performance and Adjustment
Factory recommended settings give a solid starting baseline: 10 clicks of compression, 16 clicks of rebound, and 11 mm of spring preload. From there, the 32-click range in both compression and rebound circuits provides enough resolution to dial out corner-entry instability, mid-corner wallowing, or exit chatter — whether the bike is used on a track day or on a demanding mountain road. The 4 mm of RCU length adjustment allows subtle chassis geometry changes that translate directly into steering feel and ground clearance.
Fitment and Compatibility
This shock absorber is a direct-fit replacement for the following Aprilia models:
- Aprilia RSV4 (2009–2016)
- Aprilia RSV4 Factory (2009–2016)
- Aprilia RSV4 R (2009–2016)
- Aprilia RSV4 RR (2009–2016)
Installation must be carried out exclusively by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to guarantee maximum safety and optimum performance.
