DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 062 takes the PAIR solenoid out of the 600 RR's emissions system and keeps the ECU from noticing.
Key Features
- Honda CBR 600 RR (2007–2026)
- Removes the PAIR secondary air solenoid
- Suppresses the resulting dashboard fault
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- No cutting and no splicing
- Fully reversible to standard
Air Into a Hot Header
Honda feeds atmosphere into the ports downstream of the valves, where anything left unburnt gets a second chance at it. The number at the tailpipe improves and the exhaust note changes as a side effect.
The Popping
Shut the throttle and the crackling that follows is oxygen finding fuel in a hot pipe. Riders often take it for a mixture problem when it is the emissions hardware doing precisely its job.
Why It Matters for Mapping
Air arriving downstream of the combustion chamber confuses the lambda reading. Anyone remapping a 600 RR honestly takes the PAIR system out first.
The Code That Follows
Pull the plug off the valve and a code appears almost immediately. The eliminator presents the resistance the controller was looking for, so the memory stays empty and the panel stays dark.
The Other Half
The solenoid is the electrical part. The ports on the cylinder head still need blanking, which is a separate plate, and doing one without the other leaves the job unfinished.
Emissions Equipment
Removing it takes the motorcycle outside its type approval. In most of Europe that makes this a closed-circuit modification and it is better said plainly.
A Supersport That Outlived Its Class
Almost every rival left the 600 segment and Honda brought the RR back. It is now one of very few genuine supersport machines on sale anywhere.
One Part, Nineteen Years
Honda kept the 600 RR's emissions architecture consistent from 2007 to the current bike, which is why a single eliminator covers the whole run.
Reversible
Original connector, nothing cut. The solenoid goes back in for an inspection without any trace of the intervening period.
Honda Came Back to a Dead Class
Almost every manufacturer had abandoned the 600 supersport category when Honda revived the CBR, adding the electronics the original never carried while keeping the balance that made it famous. It is a deliberate, slightly stubborn motorcycle.
