This panel sits underneath the tail section, between the exhaust run and the seat base, and its job is thermal rather than cosmetic. On a 1262 cc twin packaged into a low chassis, the space under the seat gets warm — and this is the part that decides how much of that reaches the rider and the seat foam.

An Insulator, Not a Decoration
Most carbon on a motorcycle is chosen for stiffness or weight. Here it is chosen for thermal conductivity, and carbon fibre laminate is genuinely poor at conducting heat through its thickness — which is exactly what you want between a hot exhaust run and a seat base.
Because the panel is hidden, this is a rational place to save money: the raw finish does the same thermal job as the lacquered ones and costs less. The only reason to take a coated version is if the motorcycle is being built for a show, where even the panels under the tail get looked at.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S, 2016 to 2024, on the original mounting points. Access is easier with the seat and tail sections removed, so fit it in the same session as the tail set if both are being replaced.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes no ABE or EC type-approval for this cover. It is a hidden thermal panel with no effect on any approved characteristic; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
Heat Under the Seat, in Context
The XDiavel packages a large air-cooled-looking but liquid-cooled twin into a low chassis with the exhaust routed beneath the rider. Heat under the seat is therefore a design condition rather than a fault, and the original motorcycle already carries shielding to manage it.
What this part does is replace that shielding with a material that handles the job at least as well and holds its shape better over time. It will not transform a hot motorcycle into a cool one, and any listing that claims otherwise is overselling. It maintains the standard behaviour with a part that does not sag.
