DescriptionThe whole story▼
Under eight hundred euros for a pair of titanium Grand Prix–derived conical pipes that keep the Ducati luggage and the centre stand — this is the most accessible exhaust in the batch, and the one where the weight number is out of proportion to the price. The standard silencers weigh 3.0 kg; these weigh 1.7 kg.
Key Features
- 1.7 kg against the standard 3.0 kg: 1.3 kg and 43.3 per cent less
- Twin conical mufflers made entirely from titanium, the shape derived from Grand Prix practice
- Carbon fibre heat shield
- 1.4 Nm more torque at 3,000 rpm — barely off idle, where a Multistrada is ridden on gravel
- Fits with the Ducati side cases and the centre stand, so a touring set-up survives the upgrade
- EC and ECE type approved, certificates supplied
- Noise insert included, installation about 30 minutes with no remapping
Reading the Curve Honestly
Peak power measures 104.4 PS against the standard 104.5, and peak torque is 90.7 Nm on both. In other words the tops of both curves are unchanged. What moves is the bottom: 1.4 Nm more at 3,000 rpm, and 0.5 PS more at 9,700 rpm.
That is what a type-approved slip-on does to a Euro 5 twin, and it is stated plainly here rather than dressed up. The reasons to fit this system are the 1.3 kg, the two titanium cones where the standard bike has a single covered box, and the sound.
Sound
Measured at 95.1 dB against the standard 94.9 dB — two tenths of a decibel, which is nothing on a meter and a great deal to the ear. A large-capacity Ducati twin through two short titanium pipes is a different machine acoustically, without stepping outside the legal window.
950 and V2 Are the Same Motorcycle
Ducati renamed the Multistrada 950 to the Multistrada V2 for 2021 without changing the engine, the frame or the exhaust routing. The name on the tank tells you which side of that line your bike falls on; the part number does not care, and both appear in the fitment here.
What that renaming did change is the used market. A 2019 bike advertised as a 950 and a 2022 bike advertised as a V2 take the same silencer, and buyers searching for one name often miss listings under the other. Installation is 30 minutes and needs no remapping.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-D9SO18-HIFFT covers the Ducati Multistrada 950, the 950 S, the V2 and the V2 S from model year 2021 through 2024. The Ducati side cases and central stand both stay usable.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencers are legal replacement parts for road use in the European Union.
