DescriptionThe whole story▼
An RS4 50 spends much of its life parked. Aprilia's fifty, sold from 2011 to 2016 with the looks of the company's V4 superbike and a small two-stroke engine, is typically the bike that takes its owner to school, college or a first job, and it waits there for hours in a row of mopeds and scooters. When one of them falls, it can push the next one over, and the front brake lever of an RS4 50 is an easy casualty. Accossato's AGDS600 is a silver replacement in the original shape.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Aprilia RS4 50, 2011 to 2016
- Original shape, for the right handlebar
- Silver, the colour Accossato lists for this model
- Operates the front brake
- Accossato cites higher resistance after damage or falls, owing to its production process
- Conceived as an affordable replacement
- Pack contains one lever
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
There are three things Accossato says about the AGDS600. It is an original-type spare, following the shape of the lever the RS4 50 left the factory with. It was designed to be economical. And, by Accossato's account, the process used to make it lets it cope better with damage and falls. The lever on this page is silver. That is the whole description, and for a part whose job is to restore what was there before, it covers what an owner of an RS4 50 needs to know.
Parked in a Crowded Row
A few habits make a broken lever at the end of the day less likely. Where you can, park the RS4 50 with its front wheel facing the way out, so it can be wheeled away without being dragged backwards through the row, and leave a little room to the next bike. Lock the steering with the bars turned towards the stand, which makes the moped harder to push over. If you do come back to a snapped or bent brake lever, do not ride home on the rear brake alone: a fifty without a working front brake is not safe in traffic. Push it, or have it collected, and fit the new lever at home. Clean the pivot, apply a little grease, check that the brake light comes on and squeeze the lever a few times to make sure it feels firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGDS600 for the RS4 50 from 2011 to 2016, and the same brake lever is catalogued for its bigger sister, the RS4 125. The clutch lever on the left of the RS4 50 is a different item, the AGS45, also in silver, and Accossato offers the CNC clutch lever ESS248 for this bike too. Mopeds often pass through several hands, so compare the lever currently fitted with our photos before ordering; an earlier owner may have put on something else.
Road Approval
The AGDS600 comes without an ABE or other test papers that we could refer to, so it is intended for racing and competition.
