DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato lists its chain guide, swingarm sliders and axle blocks for the EXC-F 450 in the same small set of colours, which lets an owner keep the whole swingarm looking of a piece as parts are replaced one at a time over the years. The GSM1 is the floating version of the swingarm slider in that range, built for the bike between 2012 and 2020 and mounted so it can follow the movement of the chain rather than holding it to one fixed line.

Key Features

  • Floating swingarm chain slider for the KTM 450 EXC-F, 2012 to 2020
  • Accossato code GSM1, mounted so it can follow the movement of the chain
  • Orange, blue or black, matched across Accossato's parts for this bike
  • Also listed for a wide run of other KTM two-stroke and four-stroke off-road models sharing this swingarm
  • Can be combined with Accossato's GCM1 chain guide and either axle block option in the same colour
  • No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Where a fixed slider is bolted down at one set position, the GSM1 is mounted so the whole piece can move with the chain rather than holding it to a single rigid line. That movement is the reason for the name: the slider floats within its mount instead of standing fast against wherever the chain happens to run. Accossato offers it in the same three finishes as the rest of its range for this bike, orange, blue or black, so a GSM1 bought on its own still matches a chain guide or axle blocks ordered separately, now or later.

Keeping the Swingarm in One Colour

A 450 EXC-F bought or built up in a particular set of colours tends to drift away from that look over the years, as individual wear parts get swapped one at a time for whatever happens to be on the shelf. The swingarm is an easy place for that to show, since the chain slider and the axle blocks sit close together in plain view once the chain guard is off. Ordering the GSM1 in the colour already used for the chain guide and the axle blocks on the bike, or planning to replace all three at once, keeps that corner of the bike looking deliberate rather than assembled from whatever was available at the time. None of this changes what the slider does; it is simply a reason some owners give as much thought to the colour of a wear part as to anything else on the bike.

Fitment and Compatibility

On its own application list, Accossato names the EXC-F 450 across the full 2012 to 2020 run for the GSM1. The same part is also listed across a long run of other KTM two-stroke and four-stroke off-road models that share this swingarm design, from smaller enduros to larger motocross machines; checking the exact model and year against Accossato's list is still worth doing before ordering. Owners building a complete chain-line refresh on this bike can add the GCM1 guide and either style of Accossato axle block alongside the GSM1, all available in the same set of colours.

Road Approval

Accossato lists no German ABE for the GSM1, so the part is intended for off-road and competition riding rather than public roads.
