DescriptionThe whole story▼

Trial riders use the clutch to lift the front wheel, and many enduro riders on a TM Racing EN 300 two-stroke borrow the technique. A short, sharp release of the clutch with the engine revved puts the front tyre on top of a log or a step, and the torque of the 300 does the rest. Accossato's C7283 is a folding clutch lever for the EN 300 two-stroke of 2010 to 2019. It is machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, its long blade gives four fingers room, and a hinge lets it fold when a move goes wrong.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the TM Racing EN 300 two-stroke, 2010 to 2019
  • Mounts at the original clutch control
  • Long blade for four fingers
  • Anti-break hinge allows the blade to fold forward in a fall
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
  • Blade in black, blue, orange or red on a dark base
  • No German ABE on record; for off-road use and competition

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato, a company with a 1985 Enduro World Championship title to its name, builds its off-road levers from Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, CNC-milled from solid in Italy. The company names strength, low weight and reliability as its aims. The C7283 consists of a dark base on the clutch pivot and a blade in black, blue, orange or red, joined by a hinge that lets the blade fold. At the clutch, Accossato uses a long blade with room for four fingers.

Borrowing from Trial

The move is simple to describe and hard to master. Approach slowly, compress the fork, pull the clutch in, rev the engine and let the lever snap out as the front tyre reaches the obstacle. Done well, the front lifts just high enough and the rear tyre climbs the step or log on the momentum. Done badly, the bike loops or bogs. Either way the clutch is released sharply many times in quick succession, and riders want the lever in the same place, with the same feel, every time.

Practising the move means failing it. The front wheel does not lift, the bike stops against the step and topples back or sideways, and its left side often ends up on the very obstacle it was trying to climb. A clutch lever pressed against a rock or a log can bend or break. The hinged blade of the C7283 has the option of folding forward, which makes it more likely that the EN 300 two-stroke can be picked up and tried again straight away. It is no armour against every fall, but it is useful on terrain where the next attempt is usually only seconds away.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the C7283 for the TM Racing EN 300 two-stroke from 2010 to 2019 at the original clutch control. Its brake-side counterpart, the B8206, fits the same bike from as early as 2001. If you want both sides in one colour, black, blue and red are available on both levers; orange is clutch-only, gold brake-only.

Road Approval

The C7283 has no documented German ABE. It is sold for off-road and competition use; on a road-registered EN 300 two-stroke it is not approved for public roads.

Scope of Delivery

One C7283 clutch lever, dark base and coloured blade.
