Plenty of riders buy a Tuono 660 as their first genuinely quick motorcycle, and the parallel twin Aprilia derived from its V4 makes building speed easy. Stopping from that speed is a skill of its own, one better practised on purpose than discovered in an emergency. The Accossato EDF099 replaces the front brake lever of the Tuono 660 for the 2021 to 2024 model years. It is machined from aluminium, works with the original master cylinder and has an adjustable distance to the grip, so the blade can sit where your fingers find it without searching.

Construction and Material Quality
Milling the EDF099 from solid aluminium, rather than casting it, gives the lever a dense, uniform structure and clean edges along the whole blade. Anodising follows the CNC work and grows a hard oxide layer out of the metal itself, with the colour held inside that layer. The hub, where the pivot bore and the reach adjuster sit, comes out black on every lever, and the blade takes the colour you order. No hinge interrupts the blade, so a hard squeeze meets no give in the lever itself.
Practising the Hard Stop
Rider training courses teach emergency braking as a sequence, and the sequence is worth copying on a closed training area or an empty car park. Take up the free travel until the pads just touch. Build pressure progressively over a fraction of a second, which gives the front tyre time to take on load before it is asked for its full grip. Keep your eyes up and your arms loose, so the handlebar remains free to steer. Newer riders on a bike as eager as the Tuono 660 often grab rather than squeeze, and a lever that sits too far away makes this worse, because the fingers arrive with momentum. Set the EDF099 so that your fingertips rest on the blade at their first joint with the wrist straight, and the squeeze can start without any reaching. Repeat the drill at rising speeds, in your usual gloves. The standard blade stays close to the feel of the original part; the long one, made in blue, gold, green and orange, leaves room for four fingers during the exercise.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue gives a single version for this lever on this bike: the Tuono 660 of 2021 to 2024. The EDF099 replaces the stock blade on the bike's original front master cylinder. For the left side, Accossato offers the ESV004 clutch lever over the identical span of years, so the two can be ordered in matching or contrasting colours. Black and red blades come only in the standard length; silver adds a short version, and the four remaining colours are made in all three lengths.
Road Approval
We have no documentation of a German ABE for this lever, so it is offered for use on the track.
