DescriptionThe whole story▼

Unlike the track-only units elsewhere in Accossato's range, this black anodised radial brake master cylinder carries a German ABE, number 61454, which makes it fully street-legal, provided the ABE document is carried with the bike. The CNC-machined 16 mm piston is matched to a PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm, and it ships as a complete kit with a charcoal-coloured fluid reservoir and an integrated brake light switch already included, so there is nothing extra to source before fitting it.

Key Features

  • 16 mm piston diameter, suitable for single-disc braking systems
  • PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm
  • CNC-machined aluminium body, black anodised
  • Folding lever with ergonomics designed to suit the motorcycle's original dimensions
  • Charcoal-coloured fluid reservoir kit included
  • Brake light switch included
  • Front adjuster for lever-to-handlebar distance, for any hand size
  • German ABE 61454, fully street-legal when carried with the bike

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato CNC-machines this master cylinder's body and anodises it black, then supplies it as a kit with the charcoal reservoir, a transparent reservoir with a nickel-plated cylinder body, and all the mounting hardware needed to fit it, which Accossato says makes installation quicker. A front adjuster built into the lever lets the rider set the distance between the lever and the handlebar with a simple rotation, independent of the pivot distance setting, so the reach can suit different hand sizes. Zinc-plated steel bolts and an off-set bracket clamp complete the mounting hardware.

Reading 16x17-18-19 and the ABE Together

In Accossato's naming, the 16 refers to the piston diameter in millimetres, ideal for single-disc braking systems, while 17-18-19 is the PRS pivot distance, adjustable so the offset suits anything from relaxed road riding to a firmer, more immediate feel; a longer pivot distance needs more hand force for the same braking power but gives a more direct response. What makes this black anodised unit different from the track-only versions elsewhere in Accossato's catalogue is the ABE 61454 approval, which this master cylinder carries specifically, allowing it to be used on public roads in Germany as long as the ABE paperwork travels with the bike.

Fitment and Compatibility

Our fitment data lists 184 motorcycles for this master cylinder, spanning BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Triumph, Yamaha and several other brands, including the Honda CB650F (2014-2018), the Kawasaki Z900 (2017-2022), the Triumph STREET TWIN (2016-2024), the Yamaha MT-07 (2014-2023) and the Ducati SCRAMBLER ICON (2015-2023). The Fitment tab on this page carries the complete list with exact model years; check it against your own registration document before ordering. The same PRS 16x17-18-19 body is also available as a separate product with a nickel-plated finish.

Road Approval

This master cylinder carries a German ABE, number 61454, making it street-legal for use in Germany; the ABE document must be carried with the motorcycle.
