There is a word on this listing that does a great deal of work and deserves pinning down. WorldSBK is Sprint Filter's specification level for the element itself: race frame, race construction, the dry P08 cloth. It is not a homologation, it grants entry to nothing, and this description makes no claim about where the part has been raced. For an F4 of 2013 to 2015 what the word buys is a build standard, which is a narrower promise than it first sounds and a more useful one.
Key Features
- Built to Sprint Filter's WorldSBK specification and supplied as a complete framed element
- One layer of dry polyester cloth — never oiled, and never re-oiled after cleaning
- Threads from ø 22 microns; the filtering is done by the calibrated gap between them, not by the fibre
- 80 µm and 5,050 l/m²/sec, the road and track figures for this medium
- Around double the filtering surface of other performance filters within the standard outline
- Direct replacement in the series airbox: no modification, no remap, two years of warranty
What a build standard is worth on a road bike
The 2013 F4 is a road-registered superbike with a full fairing and an airbox fed from behind it. In that setting the element is nowhere near the limiting item — the ceiling on what the engine draws is set by displacement, valve timing and throttle area, and no cloth raises it. What a build standard does affect is the twentieth cleaning rather than the first: whether the frame still holds its seal, whether the medium is still tensioned as it was, whether the seam has stayed put. Those are the failure modes of a filter that is kept instead of replaced, and they are precisely what a heavier specification addresses.
Three model years, thirteen on the part number
The F4 covered here is the 2013 to 2015 machine. Earlier F4s are absent from the fitment list, which is the ordinary way of things with air filters: the part is defined by the housing it seals into, and the housing is what moved. In the other direction the number runs on, through the F4RC to 2026 and across to the Brutale and the Rush. The owner of a superbike now more than a decade old is therefore buying from a line still in current production for other machines — not the usual position once an Italian sports bike leaves the price list.
Care and cleaning
The service is a compressor and a few minutes. Direct the air at the clean face of R189S-SBK and work outward, so everything the cloth trapped travels back out the way it entered. If the medium still looks loaded, wash it: lukewarm water, a mild washing-up detergent, a rinse until the water is clear. Then patience. Keep every heat source away — guns, radiators, naked flame — because heat is the one thing polyester does not survive. Fit it back dry and untreated. Details are on the maintenance sheet in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Specified for the airbox of the MV Agusta F4 1000 built from 2013 to 2015. Eight machines share the element: the F4R and F4RR of the same period, the F4RC and F4RC LH through 2026, and the Brutale Oro, Brutale RR and Rush.
