The D|air is the Multistrada that talks to your jacket. Sensors on the bike decide, in milliseconds, whether an airbag should fire — and a machine built around that idea is one where you think carefully before putting anything into the intake tract that was not designed to be there. The Sprint Filter P08 PM127S is a dry polyester element: no filter oil, nothing tacky, nothing that can travel downstream and settle on a sensor. That is not a marketing distinction on this version; it is the reason to choose dry over oiled.

The problem with tacky filters on a sensored bike

An oiled cotton gauze works by making dust stick to a film of oil. It filters well, and on a simple engine that is the end of the story. On a modern Ducati it is not: oil migrates when the airbox runs warm and the bike is worked hard, and the hot-film air-mass sensor sits directly in its path. A contaminated sensor does not fail cleanly — it reads low, the fuelling drifts, and everything downstream of that reading is working from a wrong number. A dry element removes the mechanism, not just the risk.

Nothing else changes

The element occupies exactly the space Ducati designed for a filter, the airbox stays sealed, and there is no adapter and no remap. The bike's electronics see a slightly freer intake path, not a different one.

Care and cleaning

Blow it through from the clean side with compressed air, working outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry.
