Two titanium Moto GP silencers under the tail, one each side, fed by a single one-into-two pipe. A limited edition, a racing part, and five kilos lighter than the exhaust Ducati bolts to a Monster 1200 R.
Key Features
- Racing slip-on kit for the Ducati Monster 1200 R, 2016 to 2018.
- Two Moto GP silencers mounted underseat, left and right, plus a 1-in-2 pipe for the high mounting.
- Titanium construction.
- 3.3 kg against 8.2 kg for the standard system — 4.9 kg removed.
- Limited edition: Spark built a fixed run of this kit.
- Not approved for road use.
- Not compatible with the original indicators — plan for aftermarket units.
- Spark part number GDU0836T, made by Spark in Mantova, Italy.
Read the Indicator Note Before You Order
Spark puts it in capitals and so do we: this kit is not compatible with the original indicators. The silencers occupy the space under the tail where Ducati mounts them, and there is no version of this installation that keeps the standard units.
Small aftermarket indicators solve it, and on a bike being built for the track it is usually a change the owner wanted anyway. It is only a problem if you find out on fitting day.
Where the Weight Goes
Eight point two kilos of standard exhaust becomes three point three. Nearly five kilos, and it leaves the bike in the two places that matter most on a Monster: low down at the collector, and high at the tail where the silencers hang.
The 1200 R is already the sharpest Monster Ducati built, with the Panigale-derived engine and a chassis sorted for it. Removing this much mass from both ends of the exhaust run is the kind of change that shows up in the first three corners, not on a spreadsheet.
Moto GP Silencers, High Mounted
Moto GP is Spark's short, wide silencer — the proportion that grand prix bikes forced on the industry when noise rules pushed volume forward instead of back. On the 1200 R they sit under the seat unit, one on each side, which is the layout Ducati's own race bikes use and the reason the kit needs its own 1-in-2 pipe.
The pipe is part of the article, not an extra: it takes the two header runs into a single feed and routes it up to the silencers. That is the whole difference between this kit and a slip-on that simply replaces what is already there.
Limited Edition
Spark flags this kit as a limited edition. The Monster 1200 R was built for three model years and the audience for a high-mount racing exhaust for it is finite, so Spark made a run rather than putting it in continuous production.
When it is gone, it is gone. There is no restock queue for an article like this.
Road Approval: None
This is a racing kit and Spark does not offer a homologation certificate for it. Fitted to a road-registered Monster in most of Europe, the motorcycle is no longer legal for public roads.
Buy it for a track bike, or for a bike that is being built into one. If you want a road-legal exhaust for a Monster 1200 R, ask us and we will tell you what is available.
Fitment & Compatibility
Ducati Monster 1200 R, 2016 to 2018. The standard silencer assembly and its mounting come off; the kit brings its own pipe and its own hangers. Budget for indicators and for a dyno session — a change this large to the exhaust volume is worth checking on the rollers.
