Spark lists code GYA8891 in two materials. GYA8891T is the one with stainless manifolds. This is the other: full titanium, and 428 euro more for the change.
Key Features
- Full titanium racing system for the Yamaha MT-09 (2021-2026) and XSR 900 (2022-2025).
- Spark's top material specification for the CP3 three-cylinder.
- Racing 3-into-1 TIG-welded titanium pipe into a Grid-O titanium silencer.
- No catalytic converter and no pre-silencer box.
- No road approval — closed-circuit use only.
- Not compatible with a centre stand.
What the Material Buys
Titanium is roughly forty per cent lighter than stainless steel for the same strength, and it holds its shape at exhaust temperatures better than thin-wall steel does. On a full system the saving is concentrated in the manifolds, because that is where the largest surface area sits.
It is also the harder metal to work. Titanium has to be shielded from air on both sides of a weld or it goes brittle, it springs back when it is bent, and a mistake in the forming is not recoverable. That is why a titanium collector costs what it does, and why manufacturers who build one tend to leave the welds on show.
A Note on Spark's Published Figures
Spark quotes 4,2 kg against a standard 7,0 kg for code GYA8891 as a whole. That figure was published for the code, not separately for each material version, and a titanium manifold set is necessarily lighter than a stainless one. Spark states no separate number, so neither do we — but the direction is not in doubt.
The same applies to the photography. Spark publishes one image set for the code, covering both builds; what differs between them is the manifold material, which sits behind a heat shield on the motorcycle.
Everything Downstream Is Shared
The pipe is a racing 3-into-1, TIG-welded in titanium, and the silencer is the Grid-O — full titanium, visible welds, mesh end cap, the design Spark took to a Moto2 world title in 2020. Both are identical to the GYA8891T build. The mounting is the standard low position on both.
Nothing Left in the Exhaust Path
No catalytic converter and no silenced box. Spark's homologated systems for this motorcycle keep both, and that is what earns them their Euro5+ certificates. This one keeps neither, which is what makes it a track part and also what makes it breathe.
Two Hard Limits
Racing use only, in Spark's own capitals, and no centre stand. Both apply to this build exactly as they do to GYA8891T. If the motorcycle is registered and ridden on the road, look at GYA8886TOM instead.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha MT-09, 2021 to 2026, and XSR 900, 2022 to 2025. Spark does not list this system for the Tracer 9. The stainless-manifold build of the same code is GYA8891T at 1.774 euro.
Road Approval
None. Spark lists this build as not approved and marks the code for racing use only. It must not be fitted to a motorcycle ridden on public roads.
