Progressive springs change rate through the stroke and suit short-travel machines. Rate is chosen for rider weight and load, not for the machine alone. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate.

Original Öhlins Part

Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.

Getting the Number Right

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 25618-11 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. The published dimensions are dimension a 63.7 mm, dimension b 110 mm, dimension c 13 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Free length and inner diameter decide fit; the rate decides behaviour. A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 25618-11

Category: Springs

Dimension A: 63.7 mm

Dimension B: 110 mm

Dimension C: 13 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/25618-11_ee5d4149-1263-48d2-8370-73d895f4f414.png?v=1788878509
