How Öhlins Makes Them
Shafts are hardened and surface-treated so the seal has a consistent surface to run against. Two units carrying the same part number behave the same way out of the box, which is the whole point of testing each one. Static sag at the rear sets the whole chassis attitude — get it wrong and the front geometry goes with it. The rear spring carries the rider, the pillion and the luggage; the front carries only part of it. A rear spring is the cheapest part of the suspension and the one that decides the most.

There is no model list for this size because the spring is a dimensional part: it fits whatever fork it physically fits. Öhlins lists no fixed model here — the spring is defined by its measurements, and any fork with matching dimensions can take it. If you are replacing a sagged original, measure its free length first — a tired spring often measures several millimetres short.
Fitting
Preload spacers usually need shortening or lengthening so the installed length stays correct. Spring preload spacers may need adjusting to keep the installed length correct. Set static sag after fitting; the rate is only right if the sag figure lands where Öhlins specifies.
Road Approval
Road approval: no separate certificate. The spring changes the rate, not the construction of the fork, and is treated as a service part.
