Manufacture and Tolerance
Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Production has stayed in Sweden since the company was founded in 1976. Öhlins winds, heat-sets and then measures every spring individually — the rate on the label is the rate you get.

Static sag at the rear sets the whole chassis attitude — get it wrong and the front geometry goes with it. Two riders 20 kg apart on the same motorcycle genuinely need different rates, not different clicks. The rear spring carries the rider, the pillion and the luggage; the front carries only part of it.
