Where it is done properly the result is a helmet that carries all of white's conspicuity advantage — the highest value on the scale, resolved fastest by a driver at a junction in flat light — without the specular highlights that gloss puts along every curve. On a compact shell like this one, that lets the proportions do the work. The silver elements add edge contrast without introducing a colour. 🔵 Two practical points: matt is washed and never polished, since abrasive compound leaves a permanent shiny patch; and a pale helmet shows fly strike and motorway film clearly, so expect to wash it more often than a dark one. Of the three Alizer finishes this is by some distance the most visible, and the only one in the whole range that pairs a pale base with a matt surface.
