Spoked Wheels and No Pillion
MV took the Brutale, fitted a 200-section rear tyre on an aluminium-rimmed spoked wheel, cut the tail short and removed the passenger provision. The Dragster is slower to turn than the bike it came from and considerably harder to ignore.
The First Generation
This fitment covers 2014 to 2017, before MV revised the Dragster with the RC and SCS versions and a different electrical layout. The bikes look closely related and the parts are not interchangeable.
One Assembly, Two Functions
The right-hand switches sit inside the throttle housing on this generation. Replacing either means replacing both, which this unit does from a single billet rather than as a casting with a cover clipped over it.
Settling a Wide Rear Tyre
A 200-section rear needs deliberate throttle application to load properly on corner exit. The precision of the bore in which the tube runs is what the rider feels during that first part of the opening, and a machined bore holds it better than a cast one.
Metal on Display
The Dragster shows its trellis frame, its single-sided swingarm and its rims without apology. A machined aluminium component in the cockpit belongs among those in a way a casting with a plastic cover does not.
Original Connector
The unit plugs into MV's own connector. Nothing is spliced, the rider aids continue to function and no fault code appears, so the conversion is reversible by refitting the standard assembly.
The First Generation
This fitment stops in 2017, before MV revised the Dragster with the RC and SCS versions and changed the electrical layout. The bikes look closely related and the connectors differ, so the registration year decides.
