A Single Season
MV launched the Stradale in 2015 and withdrew it almost immediately as the range was rationalised. It combined the Rivale's chassis with a taller screen, panniers and a centre stand, and it disappeared before anyone had properly noticed it existed.
What It Was Trying to Be
A three-cylinder Italian sport tourer with real luggage capacity. The idea was sound and the execution was decent; what defeated it was competing against machines with better networks behind them and considerably more development.
Very Few Survive
Production was tiny and the model has no successor. Anyone maintaining one is working with a parts supply that was never deep and has not improved, which makes correctly fitting components genuinely valuable.
Machined Lettering
The logo is cut into the body during manufacture and anodised with it. It will look identical after a decade of a hand resting against it, which applied graphics on this component do not.
A Touring Argument for a Short Cam
Less about response than about wrist position over a long day. A throttle that reaches full opening in a smaller rotation requires less repositioning of the hand, and across several hundred kilometres that is a comfort question.
Reversible
Mechanical conversion using the original cables. On a model this rare, keeping the standard parts and the ability to refit them is straightforwardly sensible.
A Model Without a Successor
MV never replaced the Stradale, and nothing in the current range occupies its position. Owners maintaining one are working entirely from what already exists, which makes correctly fitting components disproportionately valuable.
