The Marked Version
JetPrime's name is cut into the face. Mechanically it is identical to the plain body and the decision between them is purely about how visible an owner wants the change to be.
Stripe and Dark
Ducati offered the 821 in several distinct trims including a matt Dark and a striped version. It is a model that has always been sold on personalisation as much as specification.
A Hundred and Twelve Horsepower
From 821 cc, in a motorcycle light enough that the figure is more than sufficient. The 821 has always been the Monster that suits the most people.
Housing Without Switch
The switch block is untouched. This replaces the throttle assembly, which is the sensible purchase when the electrics are working.
A Machined Bore
The tube turns in a bore that is cut rather than formed, which keeps the rotation smooth across the mileage a daily motorcycle accumulates.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium. An 821 is often ridden through winters and an anodised surface survives salt where a coated one starts to lift at an edge.
Ergal 7075
Aerospace grade at roughly twice the strength of ordinary machined alloy. On a bike parked on city streets, the material is chosen for the day it goes over.
Steel, Deliberately
Ducati kept the trellis on the 821 long after abandoning frames on its superbikes. It is heavier than aluminium and it is also the thing that makes a Monster look like one.
Engraved Into the Metal
The mark is cut rather than printed, so nothing about it fades or peels. It is a small detail and it is the difference between a component that ages and one that merely gets older.
