Engraved Face
The maker's name is cut into the anodising. It is the only thing separating this from the plain body and it costs nothing extra.
Three Riding Modes
Sport, Touring and Urban, with genuinely different power delivery in each. The Monster was among the first nakeds to make riding modes something other than a marketing bullet point.
A Hundred and Forty-Five Horsepower
The S carried a higher state of tune as well as better suspension, which is a distinction most manufacturers do not bother making between trim levels.
Throttle Assembly Only
The switch block remains where it is. This part covers the housing, which is what most owners actually need.
A Cut Bore
Machined rather than moulded, so the tube stays concentric and the grip keeps its feel. Ride-by-wire means the consistency reaches the engine too.
One Finish
Black, anodised through the surface. Against gold Öhlins it steps back rather than attempting to match, which usually looks better.
Cut From Solid
Ergal 7075 at roughly double the yield strength of the alloys used in most machined accessories. It holds its clamping face on a handlebar indefinitely.
Fabbro's Shape
The 2014 Monster was drawn to keep the original's proportions while accommodating a radiator. Getting a liquid-cooled engine into that silhouette was the hardest part of the whole project.
An Engraving That Ages Well
Cut into the anodised layer, the mark does not wear, fade or lift. Whatever else happens to the motorcycle, that face looks the same in a decade.
Brembo M50 on a Naked
Ducati specified the same monobloc caliper it used on superbikes, on a motorcycle with upright bars and a short wheelbase. The braking capacity is well beyond what the chassis can use, which is exactly the margin a rider wants when something unexpected happens on a road they do not know.
