A Decade of Middleweight Adventure
The Tiger 800 ran from 2011 to 2019 and did more than any other Triumph to establish the company in the adventure market. The final two model years are the most developed: lighter crank, revised gearing, a colour display and better throttle response.
One Bike, Many Suffixes
Triumph split the range into XR and XC families and then into equipment levels running to XCA and XRT. The source data and this catalogue treat them as one motorcycle, because that is what they mechanically are: the differences are wheels, suspension travel and specification.
Which Clamp You Have
Aligned means the master cylinder's two clamp bolts sit on a line square to the handlebar. On a bike this age the front brake may well have been changed at some point, so the check is worth making rather than assuming the factory arrangement.

An adventure tourer's right-hand cluster is worked continuously across long journeys: mode changes on varying surfaces, cruise control on transits. It is repetition rather than abuse, and it is why touring machines have vaguer switchgear than their mileage suggests.
