Staggered, and Not by Accident
Ducati's two master cylinder clamps place their bolts differently and this block matches the offset one. Nothing about the model or the year decides it; the clamp on the bike does.
Sixty Seconds With an Allen Key
Loosen the existing block, look at where the screws enter and the question resolves itself. It is faster than reading a compatibility chart and considerably faster than a return.
Why There Is No Cheaper Repair
Ducati's parts system offers the block and nothing inside it. That is not obstinacy; the switches are moulded into the shell during manufacture and cannot sensibly be separated afterwards.
A Contact That Never Quite Fails
Oxidation builds resistance rather than breaking a circuit. The function works, then works most of the time, then works on warm days, and the process takes the better part of a year.
The Same Part, Ten Thousand Times
A cutting programme produces one dimension for as long as it is run. Moulding tools wear steadily, and the last blocks out of one do not sit the way the first ones did.
Nothing Printed to Lose
Ducati's legends are applied to the surface of the plastic and ultraviolet removes them within a few summers. A machined body carries none, so the question never arises.
Two Hundred and Sixteen Horsepower
From the current Stradale, found while meeting tighter emissions than the previous version faced. That second half of the problem is increasingly the harder one.
A Conventional Swingarm
After nearly two decades of single-sided arms on its flagship, Ducati went back to a double-sided design because it was lighter and worked better.
Flex Where It Helps
The new front frame is deliberately less laterally stiff, because racing data showed a controlled amount of give improves feel at full lean. It reverses thirty years of assumption.
