The JP CJP 012D gives a track-prepared Softail LOW Rider S Fxlrs a fuel map that can follow the fuel, the weather and the exhaust rather than being fixed at the factory.

The Fast One
Harley put the largest Milwaukee-Eight and better suspension into the Low Rider S, producing the quickest thing in the Softail range by some margin.
Fitting Comes First
The unit goes in, the map stays empty, the motorcycle is ridden. Only then does the mapping start, because a baseline you have felt is worth more than one you assumed.
Mounting the Unit
Under the seat or beneath the tank, secured and dry, with the USB connection reachable without dismantling half the motorcycle. That last point is worth thinking about before the cable ties go on.
Filters and Airboxes
An open filter changes the whole surface rather than one region. Owners who fit one should expect a mapping session rather than a small adjustment.
Zero Means Standard
Every cell starts at nought and the motorcycle behaves exactly as the factory intended. There is no default map to undo and nothing to be surprised by on the first ride.
Keeping Notes
Which map, which exhaust, which fuel, which date. Six months later that record is the difference between improving a map and starting again.
Session Discipline
One region at a time, one variable at a time, saved before and after. Mapping without discipline produces a file nobody can reason about, including its author.
What Nobody Mentions
Most of the work is not mapping. It is fitting a wideband, finding a quiet road, learning the software and building a routine that produces comparable measurements.
A Map Has No Ceiling
Unlike a fixed curve it can keep improving as long as somebody keeps working on it. That is the argument for the higher price and it is only worth anything to an owner who will do the work.
