The JP CJP 044B gives a track-prepared S1000RR a fuel map that can follow the fuel, the weather and the exhaust rather than being fixed at the factory.

Four Cylinders, One Map
BMW's superbike has always been mapped conservatively in the lower riding modes and aggressively in the upper ones. What the engine does for a given opening depends heavily on which mode is selected.
Two Exhausts, Two Maps
An owner who runs a road silencer during the week and a race can at weekends can hold both maps on a laptop and write whichever one the motorcycle needs.
The Baseline Ride
Ride the motorcycle with an empty map and note where it hesitates, surges or feels flat. That list is the specification for the first mapping session.
Backups
Every map is a file. Copy the good ones somewhere that is not the laptop, because the laptop is the thing most likely to be dropped in a paddock.
Reading a Wideband
The display shows the mixture in real time. Holding a steady load and watching the number is the entire technique, and it is considerably duller than it sounds.
Windows and a Cable
The software is a workshop tool from JetPrime, not a phone application. It looks utilitarian because it is, and everything it does happens through a USB connection.
Buying Second Hand
The unit transfers between identical motorcycles because nothing in it belongs to one machine. The harness is the part that has to match, not the box.
Starting Rich and Working Back
One accepted method: add fuel until the engine is clearly too rich, then reduce until it is right. It is slower than the alternative and considerably safer.
The Fair Recommendation
If the engine is modified and the owner will do the work, this is the right unit. If either half of that sentence is untrue, the preset module is the better purchase and costs ninety euros less.
