A Single Seat
No pillion provision at all, which tells you plainly what Kawasaki expected owners to do with it. Very few RRs carry passengers.
Two Hundred and Seven Kilograms
Wet, the same as the standard bike despite the lighter components, because Kawasaki spent the saving on strength rather than on the scales.
Plastic on a Hot Casting
Nothing else on the machine is asked to go from cold to exhaust temperature this often. The petals inside give up on a calendar rather than on an odometer, and once one splits the flow can travel back up the pipe.
Before Any Mapping
Air entering the exhaust after combustion moves the readings, and every fuelling decision taken from those readings inherits the movement.
On a Naked Kawasaki
Kawasaki leaves the motor exposed on the naked models, so whatever is bolted to it is part of the design whether it was meant to be or not. A turned cover belongs there in a way a blanked-off pipe never does.
What Is Gained
One fewer perishable component, a tidier top end and an exhaust port that cannot admit anything. No power, no throttle response and no consumption change.
A Flat Face Underneath
The head is machined where the housing sits, which is why an O-ring seals against it without any compound at all.
Where the Soot Shows
Inside the airbox and on the filter, downstream of a cracked reed. It is the cheapest diagnosis available anywhere on the system.
Homologation Hardware
Every part of the RR exists to satisfy a rule, including the emissions equipment that a race build removes within the first week. Kawasaki fits it because the road model must have it, not because the engine wants it.
Marchesini Forged Wheels
Fitted as standard, removing rotating mass at the largest radius. It is the most effective single weight saving available on any motorcycle at any price.
