The JP ES 041 is what an owner fits to the SuperSport 939 when the reeds in the secondary air housing have cracked, which happens with heat cycles rather than mileage.

The Reed Assembly
A moulded housing holding one reed per port, bolted to the cylinder head and fed by a hose from the airbox. It is the half that physically admits the air.
On a Naked Ducati
The top of the engine is part of what the motorcycle looks like, and a milled cover reads as deliberate where a capped hose reads as unfinished.
What the Reeds Do
They allow air in one direction only, so exhaust pressure cannot push gas back towards the filter. A crack removes that protection entirely.
The Desmodromic Head
Ducati's valve gear is mechanically closed rather than sprung, which has nothing to do with the secondary air system bolted to the outside of the casting.
Twenty Minutes of Work
The rest of the job is bodywork. Anybody planning the evening should allow for the disassembly rather than for the part itself.
An Inspection Would Find Nothing
Original fastener positions, original torque and an unmarked sealing face. The exchange leaves no evidence beyond the cover itself, and the standard housing refits in twenty minutes with no replacement seals required whenever the motorcycle needs to be back at specification.
The Hose Route to the Airbox
It runs from the head up and forward into the airbox, usually clipped at two or three points along the way. Following it before anything is undone shows exactly where the intake end terminates, which is the fitting that has to be closed once the housing is gone.
