The JP ES 010 takes the 1290 Super Adventure R's air injection solenoid out of the circuit without a warning appearing.

Where the Air Goes
From the airbox, through a solenoid, into the exhaust ports on a closed throttle. It lowers measured emissions and does nothing else.
Why It Cannot Simply Be Unplugged
The controller checks the winding at every start. A missing coil is indistinguishable from a broken wire and the warning appears immediately.
The Expected Load
This unit answers with the resistance the controller wants. No fault is logged, no lamp appears and no diagnostic session is required.
Built to Be Rallied
Flat seat, WP Xplor forks and a twenty-one inch front. The R is the version that ends up carrying a road book and a long-range tank.
Two Hundred and Twenty Kilograms Off Road
It is a very large motorcycle to take onto loose ground, and it is startling how well it copes. Preparation is what makes the difference.
Fewer Things to Break
Hoses and a plastic valve body above the engine are exactly what a fall or a rock finds first. Removing them removes a roadside repair.
Overrun Noise
The crackle on a trailing throttle is fuel burning in the header. It is not the silencer and changing the silencer only amplifies it.
Before Any Mapping
Unmetered air after combustion corrupts gas analysis. On a bike often remapped for altitude or fuel quality, honest readings matter.
The Cover Completes It
The reed housing stays on the head until the mechanical half is replaced as well. The two are sold separately.
Homologation
The system is part of the approval and its removal ends road legality in every European market.
Preparation Is the Point
Nobody takes a standard Super Adventure R across a desert. The bikes that do it carry crash protection, a bigger tank, a rally tower and a list of deletions, and the air injection system is on that list every time.
