The JP KS DU005 is the keyless ignition switch for the Streetfighter V2 955: no barrel, no key and no steering lock, on a machine that has no use for any of them.

A Superbike Without the Fairing
Ducati fitted a handlebar to the Panigale V2 and left the engine alone. On a circuit it flatters a rider more than the clip-on version does.
No Key at All
The bike is armed and killed by a button rather than by turning something. There is nothing to lose in a paddock and nothing to carry in a set of leathers.
Fitted With the Yoke in Place
Nothing needs the front end dismantling. The block unbolts from above and the new one goes back in the same holes.
A Sealed Unit
Everything electrical inside is closed against water and vibration, which is what separates this from a switch bought by the metre.
Keeping the Barrel
It is the part an inspection or a buyer will ask for, and the part that costs real money to replace. A labelled bag solves it.
Access
Reaching the connector generally means lifting the tank or a cover. On some models it is visible as soon as the block is unbolted.
The Steering Lock
It leaves with the barrel, and there is no substitute in the new part. A motorcycle stored anywhere public needs a different answer.
Weight Distribution
Mass at the steering head is worth roughly twice what mass low in the frame is worth to a rider. That is the whole reason this number gets quoted.
Who Buys This
Club racers, track-day regulars and owners building a machine that will never carry a number plate again. It is a narrow market and an honest one.
Storing What Comes Off
Barrel, key, bracket and connector in one bag, kept with the motorcycle rather than in a drawer somewhere else. A reversible change is only reversible if somebody can find the parts, which is a lower bar than it sounds.
