A Naked Boxer
The same liquid-cooled twin in a road chassis with upright bars and no bodywork. The R1200R is the least talked about member of the family and one of the better ones to ride.
Nothing Covers the Plumbing
Without a fairing, the area behind the engine is visible from beside the motorcycle. A carbon canister and three lines are the least attractive part of it.
What the Carbon Holds
Petrol vapour from a warm tank, until a valve meters it into the intake. The bed has a finite life and nothing in the service schedule replaces it.
Ruined at the Pump
Topping up after the nozzle clicks forces liquid fuel into the carbon, and the resulting hard starting is chased through the fuelling for weeks by owners who never suspect the cause.
Where the Vent Goes
Routed away from the exhaust and clear of the swingarm, terminating in a fitting rather than a raw hose end. It takes a minute and it matters for years.
Why the Valve Cannot Just Be Pulled
Its coil is measured, and an open circuit is a fault code. This kit answers the measurement instead of hiding from it.
Shaft Drive
No chain to adjust, clean and effectively maintenance free. On a motorcycle used all year in bad weather it is worth considerably more than the small weight penalty.
Access Afterwards
Shock, linkage and exhaust hanger all become reachable once the assembly is out.
Refitting Is the Same Job
Same tools, same access, same sequence in reverse. There is no special step and no part that has to be renewed.
Where It Is Not Fitted
In markets without the requirement, BMW leaves the plumbing off entirely and there is nothing here to remove.

Small parts are what turn a simple removal into an afternoon. The kit accounts for the fasteners as well as the components.
