DescriptionThe whole story▼
The XDiavel front fender is a long, low sweep that follows a 120-section front tyre at a distance most cruisers would not attempt. That shape is exactly why it is worth replacing in carbon: it is cantilevered off the fork, it is the first panel anyone sees, and in the original moulding it is heavier than it needs to be at the very front of a motorcycle that already carries its mass low and long.
Key Features
- Direct replacement for the original XDiavel front fender on the standard fork mounting points
- Six factory configurations: 200 Plain in clear coat, matt, satin or raw, and 245 Twill in clear coat or matt
- Autoclave-cured laminate, stiff enough not to resonate over the long unsupported span behind the fork leg
- Raw carbon is the lightest and least expensive option, because no lacquer layer is applied
- UV-stable coating on the lacquered versions, which matters on a motorcycle usually parked outdoors
Weave Choice on a Cruiser
This is one of the few places in the range where 245 Twill has a real argument. The XDiavel is a long motorcycle with large, flat surfaces, and the diagonal twill pattern reads clearly across a panel this size from several metres away, where 200 Plain quietly disappears into a dark sheen. On a Panigale the plain weave is the factory-correct choice; on a power cruiser built to be looked at standing still, twill is a legitimate styling decision rather than a compromise.
The cost difference is modest and the structural difference is negligible. Choose by how you want the motorcycle read: plain for restraint, twill for presence.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S, model years 2016 to 2024, using the original fasteners. It does not transfer to the Diavel 1260 or the Diavel V4, which carry different fender mounts and a different fork spacing.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Treat it as a replacement body panel and confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Unsprung Weight at the Front of a Heavy Motorcycle
The XDiavel is not a light machine, and that is precisely why weight at the front wheel is worth attention. Everything ahead of the steering axis and below the spring has to be accelerated and decelerated by the fork every time the front tyre meets a ridge, and on a motorcycle with this much mass behind it, a fork that is fighting less mass in front settles noticeably sooner.
The effect is not dramatic and nobody should buy a fender for handling. But it is real, it is free once you have decided on carbon for appearance, and it is the reason the front fender is a more sensible first purchase than a panel of the same price further back on the bike.
