Three model years, one part number, and a silencer that will not attach without it. This is the fitting kit for the MT-09 that Yamaha built between the 2021 restyle and the Euro 5+ update, and it is not the same kit the later machine takes.

Which Three Years
Yamaha gave the MT-09 a new frame, new bodywork and the 890 cc engine for 2021, then updated it again for Euro 5+ in 2024. This kit belongs to the middle generation, and the boundaries are sharper than they look — the 2024 machine has different mounting points and a different kit.
A first registration date in the vehicle document usually settles it. A bike registered in early 2024 but built in 2023 is the awkward case, and there the frame number is the reliable answer.
Why This Is a Separate Line Item
Akrapovic sells one silencer across several versions of the MT-09 and puts everything that differs into a cheap bolt-on kit. That keeps the expensive part on the shelf for longer and makes the cheap part specific.
The consequence for a buyer is simple and unforgiving: an order containing only the exhaust cannot be completed. There is no improvising a clamp.
What Is in the Box
The clamp that grips the silencer, the bracket that carries its weight, and the fasteners, spacers and springs that hold the assembly to the subframe. Everything is finished and to size; nothing needs cutting or drilling.
Order Both at Once
The kit is a small fraction of what the exhaust costs. Leaving it out of the order turns an afternoon's work into a wait for a second parcel, with the motorcycle on a stand in the meantime.

Keep the Yamaha Hardware
The standard clamp and bracket come off with the standard silencer. Bag them together and label them. An MT-09 offered for sale with its complete factory exhaust, hardware included, is easier to sell than one with a box of loose parts.
A Word on the Later Kit
Akrapovic lists a separate fitting kit for the Euro 5+ MT-09 built from 2024. The two look identical on a price list and are not. Ordering by model name alone is how the wrong one ends up on the bench.
Not a Performance Part
Expect nothing from it in the way of output or noise. Its whole contribution is that the silencer stays where it was put, and a buyer who wants more than that is looking at the wrong line on the invoice.
Road Approval
Nothing to declare. Hardware of this kind falls outside the approval system altogether; the legality of the finished exhaust rests with the silencer and whatever converter sits in front of it.
