DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Scrambler Icon is at its happiest on warm days, on a short ride into town and a coffee outside. When Ducati launched the Scrambler range for 2015, the Icon was its base model, and many of its owners ride mainly in summer. Summer has its own hazard for a parked bike. On a hot afternoon asphalt can soften enough for the foot of a side stand to press into it, and a bike left for an hour may be lying on its side when you return. For the Scrambler Icon of 2015 to 2018, Accossato lists the AGS310, a black clutch lever of the original type.
Key Features
- Replacement clutch lever of the original type for the Ducati Scrambler Icon
- For the model years 2015 to 2018
- Black, as in Accossato's list
- Mounted on the left, works the clutch
- Designed with value for money in mind
- Accossato says the production process gives the lever greater resistance after damage or a collision
- One lever in the pack
- No ABE or test mark on file; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of the AGS310 is brief. It is a spare in the form of the original, intended to replace the clutch lever the Scrambler Icon had from new without changing the look of the bike. The company says it developed these parts to give customers an attractive balance between quality and price, and that its manufacturing process makes them more resistant after damage or collisions. It is black. No further specifications are published, so we do not describe any.
When the Asphalt Softens
Asphalt is a mix of stone and bitumen, and bitumen softens as it warms. On a normal day a side stand spreads the weight of a parked bike well enough, but in a heatwave, in full sun and on a fresh or dark surface, the small foot of the stand can sink slowly into the road. The bike leans a little further, then a little more, until its weight moves past the point where the stand can hold it. It falls to the left, the side it was already leaning towards, and the clutch lever of the Scrambler Icon is one of the first parts to touch the ground. The remedy is simple. Park on paving stones, on concrete or in the shade when you can, and carry a flat plate or a squashed drinks can to put under the stand when you cannot. After a café stop on a hot day, glance at the angle of the bike before you walk away. If it has already gone over, check the clutch lever, the left footrest and the mirror, and replace a lever that is bent rather than straightening it.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGS310 is on Accossato's list for the Scrambler Icon of 2015 to 2018, and it is the only replacement clutch lever named there for these years. With us, the same lever also appears under the Scrambler Classic, the Monster 821 and the Hyperstrada 939, among other Ducatis. Please compare the product photo with the clutch lever on your Scrambler Icon before ordering. If your bike is from a later model year, take particular care, since Accossato's entry covers only 2015 to 2018.
Road Approval
Since no ABE or test mark is on file for the AGS310, we sell it for use in racing and competition events.
